Application layer appearance

Branding, logo, colours, icons, application layout and photo gallery.

Application layer branding

Branding determines how the application layer appears on screens in a given Location. Here you configure the menu heading, application layer logo, overlay images for portrait and landscape screens, and the colour scheme of individual parts of the interface.

You can set colours for the application's global background, text and symbols, button and application backgrounds, application tiles, the primary panel and the secondary panel. This lets you match the kiosk to the visual identity of a town, hotel, shopping centre or other Company without modifying the applications themselves.

Logo, icons and layout

You can upload a custom Location logo to the application layer. You can also configure the application icon size, application layout and photo gallery behaviour, including media cropping in the application layer's photo gallery.

If a setting requires an icon, you can upload your own file or select an icon from ScreenSoft's extensive built-in icon gallery.

Application layer photo gallery

The separate Application layer photo gallery tab lets you upload photos used directly in the kiosk interface. The gallery can contain multiple images, which an administrator can add or remove. Typical examples include photos of a town, village, hotel or shopping centre.

Enabling or disabling the photo gallery also changes the application layer's template and layout. This lets the client choose an interface with or without a photo gallery, depending on the desired appearance and how the kiosk will be used.

I want to change the kiosk's appearance for one Location

  1. In the Location details, open the Branding settings.
  2. Configure the logo, menu heading and colours, and add overlay images for the screen orientation as needed.
  3. If you use the application layer's photo gallery, upload its images and choose the appropriate layout variant.
  4. Check the result on a device in that Location.

Inactivity timers and dialog text are also configured in Branding. Their purpose and settings are described in the guide Kiosk behaviour and controls.
