Introduction and orientation
Website embeds a site directly in the Application Layer, for example CNN, a local fire brigade website, a recruitment subpage or a custom interactive shopping-centre map. Use it when the customer already has a web service and does not need to recreate that content in the system. It can make an entire website or just a specific section available. The visitor opens and uses the website on screen. It can also be the device’s fullscreen default application after touching the Presentation Layer.
Steps and settings
Create and configure
- Open My applications, click + and select Website.
- Enter the exact URL/subpage.
- Configure icon and browsing mode.
- Set the website display and controls.

- Set zoom/resolution options as needed.
- Where needed, restrict navigation and configure permitted destinations; test the links required by the website.
Navigation restrictions are not an exact domain security boundary or a filter for all network requests. See player and display security for details.
- If the website will run without the system controls, arrange the necessary custom navigation with its developer or supplier using the navigation functions described in this guide.
Fullscreen display is useful for applications such as a shopping-centre map. Custom navigation is needed because the system controls are hidden, rather than because the site is displayed fullscreen.
- Save the application and publish it to the target device.

Related topics and next steps
On the target screen, check that the app opens, shows the content and returns to the menu. Saving alone does not confirm delivery to the device.
