Campaign capacity

Introduction and orientation

How the system calculates media space and what happens when a target device cannot meet the requested playback goal.

Calculation

Occupied media space is calculated as 100 × (Duration × Repetitions) ÷ 3600, while existing device load is considered.

Overview and explanation

Target selection

A value such as 27% → 107.56% means the device is currently at 27%, but the new campaign would push the requested load above available hourly capacity. Each target shows its current utilisation and its utilisation after the new campaign is added.

Limited targets

The system does not hide the device. It marks it as a target that cannot meet the entire requirement. The administrator can choose Exclude or Include – Limited targets. For a limited target, the system shows the portion of the requirement that can realistically be met, along with Excluded days and Playback days. For example, only 12.90% of the target and 4 out of 31 days may be available.

Interactive day-by-day capacity check

The capacity value and excluded-day count are not merely informational. For a limited target you can open the detail and see exactly which days have insufficient media space.

Example: adding the campaign would increase target usage from 21% to 101.56%. If you choose Include – Limited targets, the system also shows excluded days and playback days.

Open the limited-target detail to display the capacity calendar. The circle represents the total percentage of the device media space used by all active campaigns on that day. The square background marks the period of the campaign you are creating.

Click a colored day. The system shows the campaigns scheduled on that device for that date. You can therefore identify what consumes capacity and choose an existing campaign to edit or remove from that day.

Practical ways to resolve insufficient capacity

  1. Open the limited target detail.
  2. Find orange or red days in the calendar.
  3. Click a day and review the campaigns running on it.
  4. If appropriate, edit or remove an existing campaign from that day to free capacity for the new one.
  5. Alternatively reduce the new campaign repetitions, change its period/targeting, accept the limited target, or exclude it.
