USB Player
An offline alternative for clients who do not want or cannot use cloud media distribution.
What it is and why to use it
USB Player reads media directly from connected USB storage.
When to use it
Use it for standalone installations without internet access or where cloud distribution is not desired.
Visitor experience
The visitor does not configure anything; the device uses the media available on USB.
What the administrator configures and sees
The administrator prepares the USB media and configures the USB Player application.
Create and configure
- Create USB Player.
- Prepare supported media on USB storage.
- Connect the USB drive to the target device.
- Configure/publish the application for USB content.
Publishing and operation
Normal ScreenSoft operation uses cloud distribution with local storage; USB Player is a specific offline alternative.
Scheduled publication
This application can be prepared in advance with a publication period defining when it should become available on the screen and when its publication should end. Outside the configured period it is not shown on the target device.
The application can therefore be created and configured ahead of time, with visitor availability starting and ending automatically according to the configured schedule, similarly to campaigns.
